I am running for US House of Representatives in CA37 to represent Los Angeles and Culver City in order to end the repetitive cycle of our broken political system that is inundated with money.
I am running to put the power of government back in the hands of the people.
I ran previously in 2021-2022 for the same reason, and nothing has changed. Making this run this time even more important.
Politicians cater to special interests, corporations and the wealthy, while paying lip-service to their constituents. Wealthy donors always get what they want, the people get little to nothing, and now we are actually losing rights.
I am one of you, a normal, typical taxpayer who is fed up with the ineffective government. As an independent and nonpartisan candidate, I owe nothing to special interests, corporations or the wealthy. I only answer to the people and no one else. The truest example of getting money out of politics is taking no donations from special interests, corporations and billionaires.
When you elect me, we all retain our power because I will be a direct representative of all of us in the district working every day to ensure:
This is a complete vision to reduce the cost of living and to increase opportunity, so that you have less stress and more security in your life.
No matter where you were born, the color of your skin, or your age, I am fighting to turn the ideals of America’s founding into a reality for all Americans today, where each of us is treated like everyone else. In fact, no one is asking for special treatment, just to enjoy our inalienable rights of our Constitution and way of life.
Together, we will address the issues of fairness. Everyone has a role to play while we enjoy our common humanity. My aim is to make it so each of us can find our role and be successful in it.
Born in poverty on the St. Louis North Side, Steve Hill has acquired a lifetime of experience in what it’s like to grow up in America as a Black male.
After graduating high school in 1979, Steve continued in his father’s and brothers’ footsteps and joined the United States Marine Corps. He served for five years, rising to Sergeant. After his time in the service, Steve moved to Los Angeles to work in the aerospace industry.
Seven years later, he became restless for a more exciting endeavor and joined the California Department of Corrections (CDC). He gained insight into the system by working at two maximum security prisons for 10 years.
Due to a “slight” disagreement with the CDC, Steve was re-trained as a Real Estate Appraiser. He founded his own company, Anaverde Appraisal, in the Antelope Valley (in northern LA County) during the early 2000’s real estate boom.
The mortgage meltdown and Wall Street corruption cemented his decision to speak for those in the middle class with no voice, lobbyist or advocacy group. With a turn to standup comedy, he employs his extremely keen sense of humor as he hits the stage with a performance that enables people to see relevant issues and potential solutions from a very funny, but drastically different, perspective.
Steve has four adult daughters, two of whom are currently in college.
